ECO KIT SUMMARY:
An ECO kit exists for LOGIN on OpenVMS Alpha V7.2-1. This
kit addresses the following problems:
PROBLEMS ADDRESSED IN VMS721_LOGIN-V0100 KIT:
o A problem occurs where the LOGIN process will loop in the COM
state indefinitely with the image LOGINOUT.EXE open, wasting
CPU resources. This can occur when an account has an expired
password and, using multiple DECwindow terminal sessions
(three), an attempt to log into that account remotely from all
sessions is aborted on one session. For example:
1. The SET HOST command is used from 3 DECwindow terminal
sessions
2. A username and password is entered on two sessions
3. A username, but no password, is entered on the third
session
4. The the second session is then aborted by closing that
window
5. The remaining two sessions (first and third) are being
prompted for user input:
o Session one, because of the expired password, is being
prompted for a new password.
o Session three has not returned the prompt from
entering the username.
Images Affected: [SYSEXE]LOGINOUT.EXE
