ECO KIT SUMMARY:

An ECO (patch) kit exists for the VAX 8600/8650 on OpenVMS VAX V5.0
through V5.1-1.  This kit addresses the following problem:

  o  When rebooting a VAX 8600 or 8650 using shutdown, auto-reboot,
     or after a bugcheck, the system fails with:

          "KERNEL MODE HALT KAF"
          "INTERRUPT STACK INVALID KAF"

     The system typically will end up taking two interrupt stack
     invalid snap shots.  After that, the system will boot up
     normally and run without any problems until the next
     auto-restart.

INSTALLATION NOTES:

In order for the corrections in this kit to take effect, the system
must be rebooted.  If the system is a member of a VAXcluster, then
the entire cluster should be rebooted.
