System Reboot Necessary: Yes
ECO KIT SUMMARY:
An ECO (patch) kit exists for the F11BXQP on OpenVMS VAX V5.1 through
V5.1-1. This kit addresses the following problems:
o When a user process requests a file system I/O operation, the
XQP code may charge a lock request against the process lock queue
limit (ENQLM limit). If the process ENQLM limit has already been
reached, the next file system operation requested by that process
may cause a XQPERR bugcheck at an offset of 760E, 76BA, 76EA or
7B50 if an attempt is made to request another lock.
o The XQP process attempts to use a file control block (FCB) which
has already been deallocated to generic non-paged pool. This
action results in the system crashing with the WCBFCBMNG bugcheck
at an offset of F979 or F991.
o OpenVMS crashes with a NOTFCBFCB bugcheck at an offset of EC28
when the NUKE_HEAD_FCB routine determines that the address passed
to it is not a valid FCB structure. The FCB address being passed
points to a structure which looks somewhat like a FCB, but the
type fields are incorrect.
o OpenVMS crashes with a XQPERR bugcheck at an offset of 7362, 73F4,
7402, 740E, or 74A0 when a discrepancy is found between the EOF
marker for the INDEXF.SYS file stored in a file control block (FCB)
and the EOF marker stored in a lock value block.

ECO KIT ORDERING INSTRUCTIONS:
If after an evaluation you wish to obtain this kit, request it
electronically using the appropriate Advanced Electronic Services
(AES) Service Tool. If you are not familiar with how to request
kits electronically, open the DIA, WIS or DSNLINK database and
review the article entitled:
[AES] How To Electronically Request ECO (Patch) Kits Using Service Tools
INSTALLATION NOTES:
In order for the corrections in this kit to take effect, the system
must be rebooted. If the system is a member of a VAXcluster, then
the entire cluster should be rebooted.
