ECO KIT SUMMARY:
An ECO (patch) kit exists for Boot System on OpenVMS VAX V5.5. This
kit addresses the following problems:
o A VAX 6000-600 or VAX 6000-500 system with a battery backup
will HALT after a powerfail recovery when the first error
occurs. Machine checks, soft errors, and hard errors which
are correctly handled prior to any powerfail recovery will
work properly. However, the first error which is serviced
following a successful powerfail recover sequence causes the
system to HALT. No errors are logged when this condition
occurs.
NOTE: The first error following a powerfail recovery will
exhibit this behavior. This could actually occur
seconds, days, or even weeks following the warmstart.
This problem is fixed in OpenVMS VAX V5.5-1.
o Following a system shutdown or crash on VAX 6000-600 systems,
the user may be prompted to enter the system date and time.
This problem is fixed in OpenVMS VAX V5.5-1.
