IMPORTANT NOTICE

The online distribution of OpenVMS and related product patches is being migrated to the HP ITRC (Information Technology Resource Center) patch distribution site. The new ITRC patch server will allow OpenVMS customers to take advantage of many enhanced features for patch searching and distribution.

Beginning August 1, 2003, OpenVMS and related Layered Product, publicly available patches will be available from the HP ITRC web site at

http://itrc.hp.com/service/patch/mainPage.do

The same patches will still be available from the existing patch server in Colorado Springs (http://www.support.compaq.com/patches/) through the end of October 2003, to give customers sufficient time to update their bookmarks and make the transition to the HP ITRC web site.

ECO kits will also be available by raw FTP from (ftp://ftp.itrc.hp.com/).

PLEASE UPDATE YOUR BOOKMARKS AND REGISTER ON THE NEW SITE NOW

Note: if you're having trouble connecting to the ITRC site, please delete any cookies for "itrc.hp.com" from your browser and try again. Report any difficulties with or suggestions to MrVMS

    ECO KIT SUMMARY:

An ECO (patch) kit exists for OSI Applications Developers Toolkit
on OpenVMS VAX V5.5-2 and higher and DECnet/OSI V5.6 for OpenVMS VAX.
This kit addresses the following problems:

    FTAMAPI Fixes:

o Access Violations occur during transfer of large files or
multiple files. Excessive page faulting occurs.

o Excessive page faulting and memory usage occur during
    file transfer over slow datalinks.

o Excessive CPU usage, excessive buffered I/Os and long
elapsed times occur during file transfers.

o The incorrect status value of -1 is returned in some
    internal routines.

o Only OSIF.H is provided. Include files for other
    languages are missing.

o FTAM cannot correctly decode certain large integer values.

    OSITP CM Server Fixes:

o U-ASE data contains Invalid Encoding. Specifically, the tag
for the RPC-APDUs (for RTI protocol) within the PDV-List was
    constructed single-ASN1-type "A0."

o Invalid encoding of the functional unit parameter exists.

o The CCL utility would not allow commands that extended to more than
512 characters. This in turn imposed restrictions on the length of
some of the parameter values like remote-ap-title.

o Server failure occurs when a TP-INITIALIZE-RC which contains no
    options (is empty) is received.

o Server failure occurs with a U-ASE data concatenated with the
    TP-BEGIN-DIALOGUE-RI APDU.

o OSI-TP now sends the correlator value of 0 instead of 1 for
    the first dialogue.

o A "Fatal internal error" message is logged by the OSI TP CM
on receipt of a TP-ABORT-RI APDU.
