ECO KIT SUMMARY:

An ECO (patch) kit exists for DECwindows on OpenVMS VAX V5.3 through
V5.4. This kit addresses the following problems:

o When running DECwindows on a VAXstation 3100/SPX Model 76, 48,
or 38 system, the display freezes, may go black or appears wavy.
If logged into the workstation from another terminal or system,
a SHOW SYSTEM command shows the DECW$SERVER_0 process consistently
in a COM state.

NOTE: CSCPAT_1035 corrects this problem for OpenVMS VAX V5.4-3
through V5.5-1. This problem is corrected in OpenVMS
VAX V5.5-2.

INSTALLATION NOTES:

The system/cluster does not need to be rebooted after this kit is
installed. However, after installation restart the DECwindows
server on all workstations in the cluster using the following command:

SYS$MANAGER:DECW$STARTUP RESTART
