ECO KIT SUMMARY:

An ECO (patch) kit exists for LOGICAL_NAMES.EXE on OpenVMS VAX V5.4-1
through V5.5. This kit addresses the following problem:

  o  When using the logical name table search list 'LNM$FILE_DEV' to
     access application specific logical name tables, logical names
     may not be translated correctly via the $TRNLNM system service.

     To facilitate the translation of logical names, VMS uses a
     logical name table cache in process space. Due to an access
     design problem associated with this cache, sometimes an "old"
     invalid copy of this cache is used. When this occurs, logical
     names are not translated properly.
