ECO KIT SUMMARY:
An ECO (patch) kit exists for NODRIVER.EXE on OpenVMS VAX V5.4
through V5.5-2. This kit addresses the following problems:
o Once a terminal port has been switched to ASYNC DECnet then
switched back to a normal terminal, the terminal may not
autobaud or timeout correctly.
NOTE: The port operates correctly while in ASYNC DECnet mode.
o Internal NODRIVER queues may get corrupted on an SMP system
when two processors access the same internal NODRIVER queue
concurrently. Later, if an attempt is made to remove the
corrupted entry, the system crashes with a NOBUFPCKT bugcheck
at NODRIVER+01B48.
NOTE: The offset of this crash may vary.
o Modem signal for CAR (Carrier) is checked even if the modem
line is not enabled.
o A fatal INVEXCEPTN bugcheck at address NODRIVER+019A7 will
occur if there is a READ error and there are no read packets
available. This problem was introduced in the previous version
of this kit in the internal NODRIVER queue fix. It ONLY exists
in NODRV$03_U2055.
o A port may get CIRCUIT down and CIRCUIT up bouncing due to
noise on a MODEM line. A check has been added to verify if
MODEM is disabled for the port.
